February air passenger visitors in India rises by 11% y-o-y

India’s home air passenger visitors grew by 11.04 per cent in February 2025 on a year-on-year foundation, official information confirmed on Thursday.

As per the information launched by the Directorate Normal of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India’s scheduled home flight operators ferried round 1.40 crore passengers final month. 

In February 2024, the visitors quantity stood at 1.26 crore. 

On a sequential foundation, 1.46 crore passengers had been ferried by home airways in January 2025.

“Passengers carried by home airways throughout February 2025 had been 1.40 crore as towards 1.26 crore throughout the corresponding interval of the earlier yr thereby registering an annual development of 11.16 per cent and month-to-month development of 11.04 per cent,” the DGCA month-to-month passenger visitors report mentioned.

In accordance with the information, IndiGo achieved the very best market share amongst all of the home airways throughout the month below assessment. The airline ferried 89.40 lakh passengers in February 2025 to realize a market share of 63.7 per cent. 

IndiGo was adopted by Air India Group (together with Air India Categorical), which carried 38.30 lakh passengers to realize a market share of 27.3 per cent. 

The info confirmed that finances provider SpiceJet flew 4.54 lakh to achieve a market share of three.2 per cent, and Akasa Air carried 6.59 lakh to realize a share of 4.7 per cent.

Apart from, Alliance Air’s market carried 0.86 lakh passengers to get a share of 0.6 per cent, adopted by Star Air, which carried 0.60 lakh to get a share of 0.4 per cent.
