We all need to slow down and take a break every once in a while. This latest creation from the “relaxing” video trend on YouTube features the iconic filmmaker David Lynch. Created by the YT channel “ZeTus58”, this one hour cut of Lynch and rain was originally made to help with meditation & concentration. It has an ambient track with the sound of rain with occasional –isms spoken by Lynch. The footage and quotes are culled from the doc film David Lynch: The Art Life that debuted in 2017. Lynch has a lot on his mind and plenty of wisdom to impart, it’s entrancing to listen to him. This is a seriously calming, comforting video – we hope you enjoy.

Thanks to the site Open Culture for the tip on this video. “1 hour of David Lynch listening to rain, smoking and reflecting on art” was made by a YouTube channel known as @ZeTus58. He reveals this was “created for concentration / meditation purposes.” The video features footage borrowed from the 2017 documentary film David Lynch: The Art Life directed by Jon Nguyen. And it also features the original music “Existential Crisis (Extended Instrumental)” by Auralnauts. In an interview, Lynch reveals that, “I had this idea that you drink coffee, you smoke cigarettes, and you paint, and that’s it.” He still lives that simple artist life and still maintains his unique identity.
